Only 735 examples of this model were produced from 1936 to 1939 and although by far the majority still survive, it has been decided that only 500 copies of the book will be printed and of these, 120 were pre-ordered by owners and enthusiasts around the world.

There are almost 500 illustrations, most from the 1930s and 1940s, including large numbers of original coachbuilder and dealer photographs, many never published before. Most examples of the 727 Phantom IIIs ever built are illustrated in the book.
