This volume of photographs provides a documentation of the, many motorcycle riders and their various cycles between 1934 and 1945.
Along with action pictures showing Wehrmacht motorcycles, this volume also includes, in particular, many photos of requisitioned machines.
Among them are those manufactured by Terrot, Rene Gillet and Gnome et Rhone. This book also provides an interesting insight into the use of motorcycles captured from the Allies during World War II. Along with the generally known solo and sidecar machines of FN, Indian Chief, Harley-Davidson, BSA, Norton, etc., there were also the super-light motorcycles of the British and American airborne troops such as the Flying Flea, Welbike and Cushman.
Also discussed in detail are the heating systems that were built into the heavy BMW and Zundapp Wehrmacht machines, plus the protective overcoats made for motorcyclists and passengers — the so-called Kradmantel.
