About the Authors
Terry Gilltrap was born and educated in New Zealand. In 1959, shortly after leaving school, he moved with his family to the Gold Coast, Queensland to assist his father for seven years in establishing an auto museum. In 1962 he combined a short working holiday in Europe with a tour of major museums and collections, and took part in the famous Brighton Rally in November, 1962. He left the museum after his father's death. In 1972 he married Maree.
Maree was born in Victoria and had worked as a publicist throughout Australia for various shows including the African Ballet. She had also spent a year assisting in establishing and publicising a major tourist attraction near Melbourne.
Terry and Maree combined their talents and now run a promotions company from Queensland. They own a magnificent collection of antique vehicles and work full-time, restoring and exhibiting their collection and other attractions throughout Australia for seven to eight months of the year.
Their spare time is spent researching material for articles and books on transport which are published in Australia and overseas.
