Description

By: James Taylor .

The Discovery must be one of the very few vehicles for which owners have demanded a book so soon after its introduction. That they have done so is evidence of two things: firstly, the vehicle's enormous sales success, and secondly, its ability to inspire interest and enthusiasm in owners who would probably not count themselves primarily as motoring enthusiasts.

This cannot be a history book, because the Discovery is still too new and has a long production life ahead of it. So instead the author has set out to explain to current and intending owners of Discoverys what lies behind their purchase. Thus, the book's main purpose is to enhance the enjoyment owners can get from their vehicles. It explains why and how the Discovery was developed, how it has changed during its production life, and what makes it the vehicle it is. There are analyses of the strengths and weaknesses of the different models and, for those who have not yet found the vehicle they want, there is a chapter of advice on buying a used Discovery. A chapter on maintenance explains how to look after a Discovery, and lastly, there are some suggestions on how to get the maximum enjoyment from ownership.
