Yet little has actually been written about MV Agusta.

This book, penned by two illustrious specialist historians, Mario Colombo and Roberto Patrignani, was first published in 1987 and at the time filled this gap very well. Today, this new, thoroughly revised and updated edition links the marque's glorious past with a sparkling present and the radiant future awaiting an all-new firm riding a wave of enthusiasm. Leafing through these pages brings back the era of the famous Grand Prix bikes, but also reveals the feats of the modern Supersport and Superbike machines that are once again gracing the world's circuits.

The book also presents the principal milestones in the marque's production history from the first light motorcycles of the post-war years through to the current F4 and F3, by way of a number of fascinating and in some cases previously unknown prototypes. Lastly, it offers an opportunity to read about the riders who brought MV Agusta 37 world championship titles, a number that enthusiasts of the marque hope will increase in a by no means distant future.

Massimo Chierici 

An amateur racing driver and rider, Chienci is the author of Parma in moto (1995), 75 anni distoria del moto club Parma (2001), Andavamo a cento all'ora (2011) and 4 ruote parmigiane (2015) Over the years he has published with Giorgio Nada //grande libro del Motocross (2005) and Moto Guzzi Guzzmo, the last edition of which appeared in 2008; in 2011 he also contributed to the book devoted to the Centenary of the Federazione Motociclistica ltaliana (FMI) He was head of the press office of the Riccardo Pallet racing circuit at Varano Melegan from 1994 to 1997 and is currently the press officer of the Moto Club Parma and a contributor to the magazine Moto Stonche e d'Epoche.

Mario Colombo

An enthusiastic motorcyclist since he was a boy, Mario Colombo is today one of the leading Moto Guzzi experts, a marque to which has been faithful for over half a century: following an apprenticeship with a Ducati Cucciolo, he straddled his first "true" motorcycle, a legendary 65, at 12 years of age and from then on has been a devotee of the Mandello firm. He was also one of the classic bike pioneers in Italy, with his first restoration dating as far back as 1960. A contributor to numerous specialist periodicals, he has written diverse books, in particular for Giorgio Nada the best-selling Moot Guzzi, reprinted on a number of occasions, Moto Guzzi Falcone, Moto Sertum, Moto Guzzi krone and Moto Guzzi Novant'anni di arte e tecnologia. In 2011, he also contributed to the book devoted to the Centenary of the Federazione Motociclistica Italiana (FMI).

Roberto Patrignani

Born in Florence in 1935 and died in 2008, Roberto Patngnani was both a Journalist and a racing motorcyclist He began racing in 1955 and took part in the "classics" of the 1950s and subsequently competed in the Tourist Trophy, at Daytona and in numerous World Championship events in the 1960s He was a world record holder with Gareth and Moto Guzzi. He also conducted a number of solo raids such as a celebrated Milan-Tokyo aboard a Vespa in 1964, a Cape Town-Asmara with the Guzzi Dingo 50 in 1967 and a Coast to Coast in the United States with a Gareth 50 in 1980. As head of public relations he worked for Moot Guzzi, Cagiva and Garelli and was the sporting director for Moto Guzzi (endurance races), Suzuki Europa and Garelli.
In parallel with this intensive career he also contributed to numerous Italian and international publications and was the author and co-author of numerous books including Le moto da corsa italiane (De Agostini), Torno Sub/to and Pane e chilometn (Pitierre)
With Giorgio Nada Editore he published Gareth 80 anm di stona (together with Daniele Agrati) and Rest' tra nor. Dialoghi sulla moto He was also the author of the best-seller Tt Portero a Bray Hill and contributed to specialist periodicals such as Motospnnt and La Manovella.
