Description

The unit-construction 650cc Triumph B' series twins were the top-of-the-range models in Triumph's range from their introduction in 1963 through to the introduction of the 750cc Trident in 1968. The model range outlived the Trident, grew to 750cc in 1973 and eventually went out of production in the late 1980s.
The models produced covered the whole range of motorcycles, from staid tourers and ride-towork commuters, through to fast road-burners and off-road competition/trail bikes. Popular in their day, these Triumphs still have a strong following in today's classic scene, offering
excellent performance and handling, and having excellent spares backup.

This book looks at the development of the range, and covers the various models produced. It gives a detailed technical analysis of the bikes, and charts the development of the range from its introduction through to its heyday in the late 1960s. From there the book progresses to focus on the difficulties of the Meriden Co-op and the final production by Les Harris in Devon in the 1980s. The book also looks at running the bikes, both in the past and now, and contains interviews with past and present owners. Tips about sensible modifications that can be made to enhance the riding experience in today's modern conditions are described, and
finally the author gives a blow-by-blow account of the restoration of a 1970 T120R Bonneville.

Illustrated throughout with photographs and diagrams, both modern and period, this is a complete and readable resource for all owners of a Triumph 'B' series twin, and the perfect companion for anyone considering acquiring or restoring one of these classic British bikes.
